“We visited the ranch with our students today, and it was such a wonderful experience for all of them. The Schalk family is so knowledgeable and really went out of their way to make the tour memorable for our kids by setting up once in a lifetime educational activities.” -Stacie L.

Authentic Homesteading

We have an ever-increasing passion for sharing the wonderful things we’ve learning, doing, growing and enjoying out here, so come on out to experience it with us! See how we raise and naturally pasture our heritage breeds of animals. Learn how to organically grow heirloom varieties of fruits and vegetables. Ask us how we work our land with simple hand tools. You’ll get a glimpse of life on a homesteading ranch and have the opportunity to learn some “new skills” gleaned from the past.

“This place is such a blessing and great family place. Can’t wait ‘til we can return.” -Meichelle V.

Remember to bring your camera!

You’ll make some unforgettable memories as you begin to write a history of your own.

“Heritage”…what do you think of when you hear that word? Does it conjure up thoughts of family ancestry? What about the way of life in a by-gone era? How about old-fashioned ways of cooking, preserving food, working the land, raising animals, or relating to your neighbors? All these things and more are “heritage” on the 160 acre Schalk family homestead, Grace Heritage Ranch.

Bee Removals

Bee Removals

All Year

Bees can be a nuisance. Yet, these insects play a pivotal role in the production of our food. GHR’s beekeepers will come to your location, collect and relocate your nuisance bees to our ranch apiary… LIVE! We will remove all the comb so as to reduce the risk of attracting another colony of bees. The bees are then free to continue their important work making honey and pollinating crops for the local farmers.

All Year

Want to experience more ranch life?  We can always use help with animal care, gardening, construction and maintenance, or working on our Homestead Tour. We appreciate our volunteers’ time and help out here, and you get a chance to learn something new or just spend time working on something you already love!
